Acing the Job Interview and Getting Your Dream Job
Your resume gets you the job interview.
Your resume served as the marketing sales document that aroused the employer's interest to the level that he or she was willing to grant you an interview.
Your resume shows the employer that you have the necessary qualifications, and the experience to do the job. It also lists the companies where you've gained that experience.
Once you've been invited to an interview, your objective at that interview is to get the job offer.
Be Confident and Convincing
The interview is essentially a sales meeting where you (the seller) get to close or convince the potential employer (the buyer) that your product (you, with your qualifications, skills, and experience) can best meet the employer's needs and contribute to the organization's goals.
In the interview, you will need to convince the interviewer(s) that you are:
the best fit for the position
a likeable person
someone who can contribute to the companies objectives
a reliable and trustworthy worker who gets the job done well
In answering the interviewer's questions, whenever possible, support your answers with real-life behavioral or comparative experiences you've had. However when doing this, do keep your answers precise and to the point.
